OAAN Set To Hold 40th AGM, July 17


The Out-of-Home Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN), is set to hold it’s 40th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Lagos.
The event is to be held at the OAAN Secretariat in Amuwo-Odofin in Lagos on Thursday 17th July, 2025 with the theme; Redefining Professionalism in OOH: A Path to Nation Building at 10am.
The 2025 AGM aside being an opportunity for the association to review the previous year, it is also to conduct elections for new officers into the Executive Council after 2 years of existing executive council ably led by Mr. Sola Akinsiku, frpa.
According to the Publicity Secretary, Mr. Babs Fagade, frpa the keynote is expected to be delivered by Barrister Adekunle Tuyo Esq., who is the Keynote Speaker for the AGM. He is a partner in Bakersfield Associates, a law firm based in Lagos.
“We are also expecting at the AGM the Director General of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo, frpa; Heads of the Advertising Sectorial Groups (HASG), Managing Director of Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA), Leadership of other States signage Agencies amongst others.”

Also, as part of the week programme lined up for the 40th AGM, OAAN in conjunction with Department of Mass Communication, University of Lagos, Akoka will hold an event entitled, ‘Connect with the Out-of-Home Media Profession 2.0 on Wednesday, 16th July, 2025 at the University of Lagos commencing at 10am.
The aim for the programme according to Fagade is a form of town and gown engagement aimed at introducing students in mass communication departments to the Out of Home media profession.
“The programme started last year at the University of Ibadan, Oyo State where we held the 39th AGM and this is the second edition with the desire to broaden the knowledge of OOH media practice and engagement among students in tertiary institutions.
He explained further that the town and gown which is now an annual event in universities within where the association holds her AGM, is to better equip the students before they leave school, provide opportunity for internship and to equip then more for the outside world post graduation..
The OAAN 40th AGM marks a landmark for the association amidst visible evolution of the profession that began since 1928 and set for yet another major leap into establishing a new frontier with the expected passing of the charter bill by the National Assembly of Nigeria.
