WOO puts Africa Out of Home on global map

The World Out of Home Organization would be hosting the first Africa Forum, which would be held virtually on Thursday February 3, 2022. It promises to provide the most in-depth focus to date on the Africa Out of Home market and its place in the global industry.

The Forum is the third in WOO”s World Tour which began in Europe then visited Asia and culminates after Africa with WOO’s in-person Global Congress in Toronto from May 25-27, 2022.

The Africa Forum has an extensive line-up of speakers from Africa and outside, covering all aspects of the Africa OOH industry and its place in the wider media market.

The keynote is an interview between Omnicom Media Group’s head of Africa, Celia Collins and WOO President Tom Goddard. This will be followed by Jacques Du Preez founder of Provantage Media who will give an overview on the market in Africa.

There will be a panel on Audience Measurement with Gurooh’s Gideon Adey, Trish Guilford from the Out of Home Measurement Council (OMC) in South Africa and Jorja Wilkins of Primedia Outdoor. This will be followed by Pikasso founder Antonio Vincenti on standardisation of formats in OOH and how they can drive business for all.

Jennifer Daniel, Vice President Partnerships at Telmar, will lead a panel including Maria Truter, Managing Partner of Ogilvy Kenya and Zambia; Merlene Farquhar, Senior OOH specialist at GroupM and Carine Hattejee, Managing Partner at Simply Black Media. They will review the current state of the industry in Africa and its prospects going forward.

Maarten Dollevoet Chief Revenue Officer at Broadsign, Francesca Vincenti, Head of Programmatic at Pikasso and Remi Du Preez, Commercial Director Tractor Outdoor will examine breakthrough progress in Automation and Programmatic in the African market.

Other Speakers confirmed would feature under the Africa association interview; Emmanuel Ajufo, President of the Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN) and Angelo Tandy, Chairperson of Out of Home Media South Africa.

This WOO event is free to any employee of our members, but non-members will also be able to register for €150 Euros. Hence, OAAN member companies are eligible to join free.
