DANGOTE, Made in Nigeria Built For The World debuts on Time Square Nasdaq Tower

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery IPO advertisement was widely reported as making a bold statement on the screen at Nasdaq Tower at Nasdaq MarketSite, 4 Times Square, at the corner of 43rd Street and Broadway, New York City on 19 September 2026. This isn’t simply a Times Square billboard. It is one of the landmark digital OOH assets in the Square.
Nasdaq describes its Tower as a seven-storey, 10,000-square-foot premium branding space, 84 ft × 120 ft, with a mapped creative canvas of 1,832 × 2,336 pixels and 15-second creative capability and why this particular site matters with the bold caption; “MADE IN NIGERIA BUILT FOR THE WORLD”, it appeals to massive tourist and business audience, financial audience and earned-media audience.
Nasdaq’s MarketSite is regularly used as a backdrop for financial-market coverage and corporate milestones. Nasdaq itself describes the Tower as a platform used for IPOs, major corporate milestones, product launches and market ceremonies.
So when Dangote puts “MADE IN NIGERIA. BUILT FOR THE WORLD.” on that screen, the media value isn’t limited to people physically standing in Times Square. The photograph itself becomes content.

And that is exactly what appears to have happened here: the Dangote leadership team photographed in front of the screen has subsequently appeared in Nigerian news coverage.
From an OOH professional’s perspective, I would classify this as landmark digital spectacular + corporate brand theatre + earned-media amplification. Hence, beyond the size of the screen is the context, content, brand association and virility. That’s powerful semiotically. Plus, the creative effectively creates this association:

The Dangote communication team ably led by Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer for Dangote Industries Limited have succeeded in presenting itself to an international investment audience in clever and creative way as the refinery image doesn’t simply sit inside a rectangular digital billboard the creative follows the curvature of the building with the building’s physical windows incorporated into the visual composition. This shows that the creative has been designed specifically for the architectural characteristics of the Nasdaq Tower, rather than being a conventional billboard artwork simply resized for a digital screen. The refinery itself appears to rise vertically through the screen, while the blue background provides continuity around the building’s windows. Then the lower screen changes the communication hierarchy: “MADE IN NIGERIA. BUILT FOR THE WORLD” followed by the Nasdaq identity. Now that’s a very strong vertical reading sequence.
The timing is therefore not incidental. The IPO opened on 14 September 2026 and runs until 13 October 2026, with 4.1 billion shares offered at ₦525 each.
