OAAN SET TO HOLD 35TH AGM
The Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN), the umbrella body for Outdoor Advertising professionals in Nigeria has concluded plans to hold her 35th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 via virtual platform due to the COVID-19 pandemic and in compliance with social distancing guideline of Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
According to the OAAN secretariat who made this known to journalists recently making reference to a news paper publication of Thursday, July 2, 2020 signed by the General Secretary, the association’s AGM for this year would not include an election as new executives were recently elected at last year AGM to pilot the affairs of the association for two years.
The associations’s 35th AGM holding as scheduled this year with the theme, “OOH Business & Emerging Realities” would see members looking at ways to survive and remain relevant at a time when COVID-19 crisis has affected member company business operations negatively.
To proffer solution to the challenges affecting the Out-of-Home industry caused by COVID-19 crisis, OAAN recently held a virtual event through a webinar with the theme, “COVID-19: OOH Business & Emerging Realities” and it is expected that such conversion will continue at the AGM, including discussion on members’ welfare and among others. It must be noted that the association from the inception of the Emanuel Ajufo current Executive council sworn in last year during the AGM, have recorded remarkable achievements including the introduction of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
This year’s AGM theme of the association is building up on last year’s AGM theme, which was “Future of OOH in Nigeria: Debt, Ethics and Best Practices’’ held on June 21, 2019 at Park Inn By Radisson, Kuto, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
There is no doubt that Outdoor advertising business is as affected as so many other businesses word over due to the COVID-19 pandemic ravaging nations globally. Hence, the Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN) 35th Annual General Meeting would definitely be a first of its kind not only in the history of the association but the entire advertising industry. It would surely be reported in the future as the first time that OAAN held a virtual AGM with members attending remotely from diverse locations.
