OAAN To Hold 39th AGM, Redefining OOH Media…

The Out-of-Home Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN) is set to hold 39th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Ibadan on August 16, 2024.

Disclosing through an official announcement at OAAN House, Amuwo Odofin in Lagos on July 9, 2024, the OAAN President Mr. Sola Akinsiku, frpa, provided details including mentioning that the keynote address would be delivered by Mr. Lolu Akinwunmi, an esteemed professional and veteran in the advertising industry. Akinwunmi is set to deliver a paper titled “Redefining OOH Media in Nigeria: The Practice, The Business, and Value Creation.”

Mr. Lolu Akinwunmi, frpa, Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Prima Garnet Africa, a veteran practitioner in Advertising, an erudite scholar, a prolific commentator on issues relevant to all aspects of media engagements in our country today and one of the pillars and leading lights in the industry in Africa. He is a foremost fellow of the advertising industry in Nigeria, a past president of the Association of Advertising Agencies in Nigeria (AAAN) and a past Chairman of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria, APCON (now ARCON). He has graciously accepted our invitation to share with us his professional brilliance. We are very proud to have him as our Guest Speaker.

Akinsiku stated, “the meeting, which is our 39th in the series and which marks the end of the first year of the two-year term of this Council is scheduled to hold on Friday, 16th August, 2024 at De Signature Towers, Ibadan, Oyo State, and it will anchor on the theme: “Redefining OOH Media in Nigeria: The Practice, The Business and Value Creation”. The theme is borne out of our desire to constantly and regularly review and examine the out-of-Home media ecosystem in line with prevailing exigencies with a view to making our sub-sector of the national economy continuously relevant, responsive in all areas of our engagements and respected by our critical stakeholders”.

The AGM will also provide an opportunity for the association’s leadership to present their scorecard and account of their stewardship over the past administrative year.

Touching base with cities all over Nigeria by moving AGM venue across States is important to OAAN as it affords opportunity to see how members are practicing PAN Nigeria, stated Akinsiku. This explains why last year AGM was held in Asaba, Delta State.

Dignitaries expected at the opening session include the governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde, who is our Distinguished Special Guest, and other top functionaries of the government of the State. The leaders of the various sectors of the Nigerian economy, relevant to our practice and business are also expected to join us. They include the Director General of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo, frpa, Heads of the Advertising Sectoral Groups (HASG), and the Chief Executives of the Advertisement & Signage Agencies.

OAAN looks forward to welcoming industry stakeholders and professionals including being hosted by His Excellency at “Oluyoye 2024.”
