OAAN Concludes EGM With New Constitution, Name Change.

The Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN), which is the umbrella body for the practice of Out-of-Home Advertising in Nigeria as recognized by the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) recently held her widely publicized Extra-Ordinary General Meeting (EGM) on September 23, 2021 in Lagos.

OR gathered that the EGM was well attended by member companies at the association’s secretariat in Amuwo Odofin. The reason for the reported massive turnout cannot be unconnected to the highpoint of the EGM, which is the consideration and adoption of the association’s reviewed constitution. Similarly, as reflected in the proposed reviewed constitution of the association is the change in name to accommodate the contemporary description of the practice.

The OAAN President, Chief Emmanuel Ajufo stated in his welcome address that; “The present Constitution has tried to guide our relationship thus far, but, with the way things are going now, we need a more robust Constitution that will take us through our present and future challenges”.

Thereafter, the member of the association unanimously adopted the new constitution, which comes with a couple of changes including having an Executive Secretary to head and manage the Association’s Secretariat. Others include what can be tagged the most visible change, which is the change of name from Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria to OUT-OF-HOME ADVERTISING ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA but retaining the same acronym (OAAN).

The EGM climaxed with the Board of Trustee Chairman, Otunba Kole Ademulegun’s commendation of the Executive Council and members of the association for supporting the growth and progress of the Out-of-Home Advertising practice in Nigeria.
