OAAN HOLDS EXTRA-ORDINARY GENERAL MEETING
The Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN), the umbrella body for the practice of Out of Home Advertising in Nigeria as recognized by the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) is set to hold an Extra-Ordinary General Meeting for registered member companies on September 23, 2021 by 10am.
OR gathered that the association is set to move the Out of home advertising practice to the next level in Nigeria to remain relevant globally. Hence, the need for a constitutional review of the association, which has necessitated the forthcoming Extra-Ordinary General Meeting for members to consider and adopt in substitution for the existing constitution.
According to the notice of the Extra-Ordinary General Meeting issued by the association in the Guardian Newspaper of Thursday, September 2, 2021 duly signed by Mr. Sola Akinsiku the association’s General Secretary, the purpose is for a special resolution to adopt the amended constitution/rules of the association.
The association that recently held her 36th Annual General Meeting in Abeokua, Ogun State must have precluded the ammended constitutional to reflect the importance of the association’s constitution. To be calling an EGM specially for the purpose says a lot about the thoroughness of the esteemed advertising association.
It would be recalled that the OAAN had in early last year presented a Standard Operations Procedure (SOP) to the marketing communication industry in Nigeria via APCON in a well attended gathering of advertising stakeholders. The relentless efforts of OAAN in the recent past is a pointer to what the industry should expect in the coming years especially the post COVID-19 era.
