OUR SECOND CHANCE
The World Out of Home organization (WOO) #OurSecondChance global campaign initiative running across nations of the world is living up to expectation as it enters the last week. The campaign that was launch on July 27, 2020 and supported by Out of Home media owners across the world and National Trade Associations – with an estimated value of $25m of prime digital Out of Home advertising inventory, is expected to end by August 31, 2020.
Here in Nigeria, the #OurSecondChance campaign can be seen on multiple digital Out of Home advertising formats ranging from destinations, roadside and mobile. Out of Home Media Owners battling with massive vacant inventories are of the believe that the campaign would help to encourage Advertisers to reconsider early return and use of the medium that they left during the lockdown period due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Accordingly to the President of World Out of Home Organisation, Tom Goddard, “Our Second Chance reflects the new post Covid world, in a non-partisan way and highlights the opportunity it gives citizens across the world, to consider their priorities and aspirations”. Reactions towards the campaign here in Nigeria are obviously not too far away from expectations other than some few cases of questions as to what the campaign is really all about. However, with the help of social media #OurSecondChance campaign the society enlightenment is building up along with the ubiquitous nature of the multi-format digital campaign in both landscape and portrait orientation.
The night and day time visibility of the #OurSecondChance global campaign running across regions in Nigeria is a true representation of inclusion of all members of World Out of Home Organization in breaking barriers of boarders as the world is indeed a global village. It is a pointer to a better 2021 for Out of Home advertising world over as nations begin to open up their economy with the likely hope of a vaccine for the COVID-19 through the Oxford vaccine group in UK and many others.
Emmanuel Ajufo, President of Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN) is delighted that member companies of the association are able to support the #OurSecondChance global campaign of WOO with such level of inventory contributions across regions of the country. He believes that there would be light at the end f the tunnel for all Out of Home Media Owners world over and the recovery is assured more through the campaign initiative and commends all participants.
